About QuestDB

QuestDB is the low-latency time-series repository on open formats. It ingests millions of events per second, computes on live data in milliseconds, and keeps years of former queryable: one SQL motor spanning messaging, stream handling and tiered storage, so teams can act on what is happening and study from everything that happened.

The motor is written in low-latency Java (zero-GC), Rust, C++ and assembly: columnar storage, vectorized and JIT-compiled SQL, streaming materialized views, and an open lakehouse tier on Parquet and Iceberg. QuestDB Enterprise turns a sole server into a completely distributed deployment alongside a multi-tiered lakehouse architecture, prepared for mission-critical workloads on the crucial path.

Our open-source repository has passed 17k GitHub stars and we're the fastest-growing repository in our category. QuestDB runs in manufacturing at tier-1 banks, exchanges, selling firms, hedge funds, crypto platforms and energy operators throughout four continents, and is expanding into robotics, aerospace and Physical AI. We lately won Best Trading Analytics Platform at the TradingTech Summit Europe, the archetypal non-legacy vendor to do so.

Working at QuestDB

We employ gifted and passionate group who portion our goal to empower developers to resolve their problems alongside data. We are construction breakthrough innovation to power the infrastructure of tomorrow.

The role

We're hiring a pre-sales engineer for North America to own the specialized flank of all revenue sequence in the region.

You own the specialized validation that happens before a agreement is signed: discovery, a time-boxed evidence of idea alongside achievement criteria accepted up front, benchmarks run on the customer's own data that their engineers can reproduce, architecture sign-off and safety review, through to the archetypal manufacturing workload. You are the engineer in the area whenever a bank's phase squad asks how replication and failover really work, or whenever an aerospace squad needs missile telemetry streamed and queried in genuine time. Most evaluations are for new projects at firms that already run incumbent systems, so much of the activity is making the case dependable against what they know: the architecture, the numbers, and a scheme their engineers accept they can execute.

You activity closely alongside our CEO, who is on the dirt in New York, and alongside the revenue squad on all deal. You additionally activity immediately alongside our CTO and center engineers on the product, so what you study in the site goes direct into the roadmap. Responsibilities

  • Design and run proofs of idea alongside written achievement criteria and a timeline: build the ingestion path, burden delegate data, scheme the schema, compose the queries, and measure the results.
  • Own deployment and architecture conversations: sizing, replication and elevated availability, backup and recovery, BYOC on AWS and Azure, Kubernetes, RBAC, TLS and SSO, retention tiering and Parquet queries.
  • Deliver demos and specialized profound dives that fit the audience, from a two-person quant squad to a bank's architecture assessment board.
  • Position QuestDB against the incumbent time-series databases alongside precision: anywhere we win, anywhere we do not, and what a immigration really involves.
  • Answer safety questionnaires, RFIs and RFPs, and run vendor due-diligence sessions alongside client safety and infrastructure teams.
  • Hand all closed agreement complete cleanly: what was built, how it is configured, what was promised, and what is motionless open, so assistance and engineering can run it from day one.
  • Turn site activity into reusable assets: citation architectures, benchmark reports, immigration guides, example pipelines and demo datasets.
