About nine months ago, my coworker Steve Vaisey told me he was curious in organizing a meeting at the American Sociological Association Meetings concerning the idea of “nuance” in sociological theory, and in particular concerning how there seemed to be a lot of petition for the stuff. He asked me if I’d be curious in submitting a document called item akin “Against Nuance”. I replied that if you were going to do item akin that, you should fair go onward and call it “Fuck Nuance” and be done alongside it. “OK then”, stated Steve, “I’ll put that downward as the title”.
Having inadvertently border myself to that mast akin several accident-prone Ulysses, I presented the document final week in Chicago. Here’s the draft.
