A national fairness has temporarily blocked the Trump administration from enforcing its ban on CNN, Politico, and MS NOW reporters at the White House, ordering that the outlets' media credentials be restored during the case proceeds.
US District Judge Timothy Kelly granted a 14-day impermanent restraining command following the three news organizations asserted the White House unlawfully revoked their access.
"The document lacks actual assistance for Defendants' disagreement that the revocation of Plaintiffs' difficult passes volition in fact defend national safety or that national safety volition be endangered if the Court orders their passes reinstated during this litigation proceeds," he said.
President Donald Trump announced the ban final week, accusing the outlets of publishing false reporting.
CNN, Politico, and MS NOW sued shortly afterward, alleging the move violated their First Amendment entitlements and Fifth Amendment due procedure protections.
Politico and Business Insider are the two owned by Axel Springer SE.
