Google may be evaluation removing the citations cardstock on the Google AI Overviews section. So whenever you do a hunt on desktop and see an AI Overview, Google mostly shows a citations cardstock that has links to the sources you can click on. Google is reportedly evaluation removing that cardstock from the interface.
This was spotted by Brodie Clark who posted screenshots of this on X, Brodie wrote, "Google has made latest changes to AI overviews that are ruthless for websites. Previously, they would prominently characteristic citations for 2-3 domains in apparent cards alongside the result. I'm now seeing a drastic decrease in their appearance, so if you are seeing a important decrease in impressions and location visibility in latest days, this is apt a contributing factor."
Here is his screenshot - showing the normal AI Overview citations cardstock on the remaining and it missing on the right:
I cannot replicate this but I do notice that the citation cardstock does burden in later, so perchance this is a bug of sorts or perchance not?
That being said, I did as Rajan Patel from Google if this was a bug but I did not comprehend rear yet:

And alongside AI Overviews showing up for over 80% of searches - as Brodie said, this can be brutal, if Google isn't ruthless adequate to location owners these days.
