I idea I'd get ill of the food by the end of my seven-day voyage in April 2022. I'd never been on a cruise before, but I imagined my dining options would be constricted at sea.

And they power have been if I weren't on commission Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas, among the largest cruise ships in the world. The megaship has 20 eateries, from coffee shops and buffets to fast-food joints and upscale restaurants.

I was overwhelmed alongside options all period I got starving on my Caribbean cruise. I ate at as many distinct restaurants as I could — additional than fractional of them.

There were 10 standout dishes that I motionless think concerning whenever my stomach grumbles.

Some of the finest meals were included in the cruise rate. Others came from specialty restaurants.

Wonder of the Seas has several restaurants that are complimentary as part of the cruise rate, during specialty dining incurs an additional cost.

For the latter, guests frequently pay a shield accusation for a three-course meal. I made reservations at five specialty restaurants. I propose booking your booking as shortly as possible, since the disbursal tends to increase the longer you wait.

Two of my favorite dishes came from the chief dining room.

The chief dining area is complimentary for guests and serves dawn meal and a three-course meal all day.

One was a meal entrée — ail tiger shrimp alongside jasmine rice, seasonal veggies, and seasoning butter.

The shrimp was juicy and had awesome flavor. The grain was sticky, which I like, and the asparagus and tomatoes were well-seasoned.

The another was a French toast breakfast. The bread was thick, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside.

A delicious berry compote on top paired nicely alongside maple syrup. Two crispy strips of bacon added a savory crunch to all bite. This was my favorite dawn meal of the entire trip.

I additionally particularly enjoyed El Loco Fresh, an outdoor DIY taco bar.

It's included for guests and serves a choice of meats, cheeses, and toppings, akin pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream.

I grabbed a basin of chips and made myself several nachos.

The queso had awesome texture and flavor. The bar had all topping I could want, satisfying my Tex-Mex craving on the ship.

When I wanted an upscale meal, I splurged on meal at Chops Grille, a steakhouse.

It was an eclectic mix of textures and flavors, yet it blended absolutely in my mouth.

I treated myself to another fancy meal at 150 Central Park.

On a plant-filled outdoor deck, 150 Central Park served a assortment of meat, seafood, and another "locally originated ingredients," according to Royal Caribbean. I had a three-course meal for $50.

The dessert was soft, fluffy, and light, alongside a lotion dairy merchandise filling. Caramelized popcorn, whipped cream, and a Nutella drizzle complemented it perfectly, making it equal additional satisfying than the chief course.

To get my seafood fix, I went to the New England-style Hooked Seafood restaurant.

The toasted rotate was generously loaded alongside thick chunks of lobster and a tier of keen lettuce. I squeezed the grilled citrus throughout the top and bit into the refreshing disorder of a sandwich. It reminded me of lobster rolls I've had rear residence on the East Coast.

For dessert, I went alongside the chef's suggestion: a citrus tart.

I took one bite, and it was uncomplicated to see why it came extremely recommended. The citrus custard was tangy alongside a bit of sweetness, and it filled up a flaky, buttery crust. It was the finest citrus tart I've always had.

The Mason Jar serves southernmost comfort food. It ended up being my favorite eatery on the ship.

I ordered the cancer beignets appetizer at the Mason Jar. Although I'd never had one before, I affection crab, and I affection beignets. So I gave it a try.

They were the ideal texture — gentle and fluffy alongside a keen external layer. The cancer sensation was subtle, alongside cinnamon on top for an engaging twist. The accompanying rubbish dip was refreshing, too.

For my main, I ordered fried poultry alongside mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.

Called "Gone Bananas," the dessert consisted of layers of vanilla pudding and graham cracker crumbs inner a jar. It was topped alongside brûléed bananas, whipped cream, and toffee. The dessert was fluffy, light, and affluent in banana flavor.

It was a fitting ending to my favorite meal of the trip.

If I were to cruise alongside Wonder of the Seas again, I'd expend small prosperity on specialty restaurants and additional evenings in the chief dining room.

While the specialty restaurants served delicious dishes, I idea the food norm was fair as elevated in the chief dining room, anywhere I ate lone twice.

But I'd entirely pay to go rear to The Mason Jar for all three standout courses.
