Routes are computed in your browser complete 160,000 street segments, using USGS 1 m lidar height and the Overture / OpenStreetMap street graph. The slider runs alongside the entire trade-off between extend and climbing: all path that nothing alternatively strikes on the two counts, from the shortest way to the flattest one value walking (where a ft of ascend expenses 200 ft of walking; beyond that the routes halt being routes). Sliding correct never shortens the path and never adds climbing. Climbing is cumulative gain, not the net difference between the endpoints. Stairways are allowed on ft and excluded on a bike. Faint lines display the another routes alongside the way. Place hunt is offline: street intersections, places and addresses for San Francisco are built into this page.
