He currently competes in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he is the former UFC Lightweight Champion and Featherweight Champion, becoming the first Georgian and Spanish fighter to win a UFC championship and first undefeated fighter to win UFC championships in two divisions. As of June 16, 2026, he is #1 in the Meta UFC lightweight rankings, and #5 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings.
