Hailee Steinfeld is an American actress and singer. She had her breakthrough with the western film True Grit, which earned her various accolades, including nominations for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Critics' Choice Movie Award and an Actor Award. Steinfeld gained wider recognition for her roles in the Pitch Perfect film series and The Edge of Seventeen, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She has also starred in Ender's Game, Begin Again, Bumblebee, and Sinners. She voiced Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its 2023 sequel, Vi in the Netflix series Arcane, and Billie Doe in the Disney animated film Hexed. She has portrayed Emily Dickinson in the Apple TV+ series Dickinson, and Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Steinfeld gained recognition in music after performing "Flashlight" in Pitch Perfect 2. Signing with Republic Records soon after, she released her debut single, "Love Myself", followed by the extended plays Haiz and Half Written Story.
