Facebook and Instagram proprietor Meta agreed to settee a suit alleging its platforms harmfully addicted young group to societal media for up to $16.7 cardinal connected Wednesday, according to tribunal filings.

Meta agreed to make changes to its products arsenic portion of the colony agreement, including implementing a 2-hour regular limit for teens connected its societal media platforms.

The colony allocates money to 47 states, the District of Columbia, and respective American territories.

The national judge overseeing the proceedings has not yet approved the settlement, though Meta and the plaintiffs person agreed to the terms.
