Google Ads posted a communication to Local Service Ads advertisers saying that featured professionals volition no longer display on your ads, and headshots volition be optional and won't effect ad serving.
Anthony Higman spotted the notice in his Google Ads document and posted a screenshot of this notice on X, it says:
Starting in October, featured professionals volition no longer display on your ads. Headshot is optional and won't power ad serving. The remainder of your ad, including photos, reviews, and more, won't change.

Google had/has a location anywhere you can add your professionals, akin your lawyers, to your resolute and it could characteristic a professional. That characteristic seems to have been removed.
But the headshots being optional is item Anthony spotted a brace weeks back, he posted that one on LinkedIn alongside this screenshot showing several attorney listings without the headshots:
