The union representing American Airlines pilots is joining opposition to Spirit Airlines' scheme to market its old data to Google.

The Allied Pilots Association, which represents American Airlines pilots, submitted an exception to the transaction on Tuesday, saying additional than 700 of its members formerly worked at Spirit and would be affected.

Google has stated the transaction includes Spirit's inner data and tradition software, but not client or credit cardstock information, and that the data would be scrubbed of any identifying information.
The filing this week joins previous objections to the data sale submitted by the Air Line Pilots Association, the union representing Spirit pilots, and the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, which represents Spirit escape attendants.
Spirit declined to comment. Google did not react to a petition for comment.
