Nine group aboard a personal jet were killed whenever it wrecked and exploded in a fireball near Palm Beach Sunday afternoon.
The plane, a Learjet, had departed from Austin and was on its way to the Bahamas, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stated on X.
Duffy stated the aircraft wrecked in "a neighborhood near Cresthaven, FL," which is concerning 10 miles from Palm Beach.
"Please associate me in praying for the families and loved ones of those we lost," he said.
The identities of those on commission were not immediately available. Authorities additionally did not say what caused the crash. There were general thunderstorms in South Florida on Sunday afternoon. The area is under a flood observe because of "excessive rainfall," the National Weather Service said.
The collision occurred small than 10 miles from President Donald Trump's Mar-A-Lago resort. The President remaining West Palm Beach about noon on Air Force One to act a rally in Iowa, according to White House pond reports.
